Vivek Gambhir is a seasoned executive with an impressive 30+ years career spanning various leadership roles in fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), consumer technology, and management consulting. Through a professional journey that has spanned across India, the USA, and Singapore, Vivek has served as a CEO, Chief Strategy Officer, Board Member, and Partner, bringing his expertise to drive growth and value creation in businesses. As an advisor and mentor, Vivek is passionate about supporting entrepreneurs and family businesses. He excels in partnering closely with founding teams, helping them scale up their ventures and accelerate their journey towards success. Currently, Vivek holds the position of Chairperson at Imagine Marketing, the parent company of boAt Lifestyle. Prior to his role at Imagine Marketing, Vivek served as the CEO and Managing Director of Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL), where he played a pivotal role in transforming the company into a leading home and personal care brand in emerging markets.
In addition, he held the position of Chief Strategy Officer for the Godrej Group, spearheading the vital formulation of the group’s vision, portfolio strategy, and mentoring CEOs of various companies within the group. Vivek’s journey began as a founding member of Bain & Company’s consulting operations in India, where he led the FMCG and Telecommunications practices. He also gained valuable experience with Bain in Boston and Singapore before returning to India. Vivek holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS in Computer Science and BA in Economics from Lafayette College.
Beyond his professional achievements, Vivek is an influential thought leader and author of the widely-read leadership blog, www.monday-8am.com . He serves on the boards of Imagine Marketing (boAt), Metropolis Healthcare, Honasa Consumer (Mama Earth), and Samast Technologies (Magic Pin). In the past, he has held esteemed positions such as Co-Chair of the CII National FMCG Committee and President of the Harvard Business School Club of India. Vivek also lends his expertise to the advisory board of the Central Square Foundation and Women Leadership Circle, and has been an invaluable advisor to the Kailash Satyarthi Children’s Foundation. Residing in Delhi, Vivek shares his life with his wife, Roopika, a social worker, and their three children – Janya, Aarav, and Imara.
